The arrival of website consultation on mobile devices has pushed developers to adapt pages to a much smaller screen format than computers.

And what about these applications today, when most websites are now adapted for all platform (screen, tablet and mobile)? Do apps still have their place or, like the old VCR, they’ll soon be forgotten due to technological development?
Let me explain what web applications and present to you all the development possibilities that companies can use for automating several processes at lower costs, both usable by the public and internal employees.
As I heard in the first minute of my Codeboxx coding training, in programming there is no limit!

At the business and development level, applications are more active than ever! For what? They now meet a unique need for each client to optimize administrative tasks and recurring processes, while simplifying data entry and sending reports and the management of prospects and customers, the sale of products and services as well, as the after-sales service of each transaction. In other words, applications have become personalized programs to increase efficiency and production and it’s now possible to do a large portion of the management of our business alone, with our phones.
We hear a lot lately about the importance to use technology for our development. Also, there are numerous organizations and financial aid from all sides promoting and helping in the digital shift of our businesses. Applications are good tools for automating many, often trivial, things in work habits and are a good start in a business automation process.
We must always remember that most employees will be fearful of technological change, instituting gradual changes and progressive developments can be an avenue to study in the digital 4.0 shift.
The digital shift is… last year!
Applications represent a very cost-effective way to take the digital shift in every organization, regardless of its field of activity. Whether at the level of automating inventory management, obtaining information from a customer during an inspection or distributing merchandise, all these tasks require management and monitoring decision that can be executed by a computer program according to an algorithm and predefined data.
We must now see applications as an investment which aims to limit expenses, whether in labour, in terms of time management or even in energy efficiency.
Examples of automation through applications
Let’s take as an example a ceramics production and distribution business. When we evaluate the path between meeting a customer, their purchase and the delivery of a product, we will see that several steps including repetitive tasks could be shortened or automated to allow the merchant to increase their productivity using one or more applications, while improving the quality of customer service.
Let’s think… First, when visiting a customer, the representative could have a system allowing them to scan the size of the floors to be covered to know exactly the number of ceramic pieces to produce, and thus shorten their visits of 30 minutes, and allow the number of visits to increase. In a future version, that same application could calculate the sizes of ceramics pieces according to the corners and floor distinctive shape, redistribute the reusable cut pieces by indicating where they would fit on the plan. (Wow, who has already installed a ceramic floor would have appreciated this info while the installation??) Finally, a third version of the application could send a communication to a stone service collection to ensure a second life for the product by collecting the rest once the installation is finished.
A second delivery appointment distribution application could allocate visits by location according to the quantity of orders and the number of boxes to be delivered, while considering the size of each truck, reducing delivery time and the distance to be covered and at the same time, not to forget the gas reduction and administrative tasks. Finally, an automated appointment scheduling tool would reduce client management and send automated notice and reminders to anyone concerned.
Do you see the endless possibilities of creating and using apps today? And this only concerns the process of purchasing and distributing the product. I’m not yet involved in the production of the product, the purchase of supplies depending on the situation of the production chain in the factory, nor even the management of the building, from accounting to the signature of contracts.
I believe in the possibilities of software apps for every business. Also, added to the investment aid programs in automation, investing in technologies to increase the production and the management for companies, are only beneficial.

Application programming… When the first version of the article was published in 2021, the programming agency, which although programmers loved developing applications, was hesitant to choose a definitive programming software, because no technology of the time could produce a single programming usable on all media (screen, tablet, iOS, Android, etc.).
The programmers then had to carry out several programming for the same application depending on its medium of use; a laborious and expensive process for companies who wanted to have the complete distribution of their applications on every device, of course, without understanding the complexity for programmers. A real headache each time and a lot of trial and error before getting a result.
The large programming language development firms were perfectly aware of this problem and a great race towards the best solution was in place for several months. New options were emerging, followed by ongoing bug fixes, and so on.
In 2020, Google presented a version of its development software called Flutter, and especially its improved version in spring 2021, which would finally provide a solution to single application programming on all the following operating systems: Android, iOS, Google Fuchsia, Web, Windows, macOS and Linux!
The agency decided to use the Flutter software to create applications for all their clients! We must admit at that time, there wasn’t much interest in Flutter. The agency admitted later having taken a chance by choosing the Flutter software; but seeing the effort Google was putting into the development of this new technology was inspiring.
While competitors were using React Native, the agency was among the first to develop with Flutter, much to the delight of clients.
Conclusion
When it comes to talking about application software, our imagination can run wild! In the world of programming and coding, it’s possible to do many more things than you can perhaps imagine! Getting information and making an implementation plan with a professional is an advantage.

Flutter, how does it work?
I learned about Flutter in the summer of 2021. Talking with other programmers, and perhaps surrounded by children and toys, we compared Flutter to building Lego, the principle because Flutter is very simple and that using a programming language, we code functions which are placed in widgets, which we can compare to a Lego block. Thus, the Flutter software allows us to assemble several Lego blocks which form an application and to modify and improve it over time.
Compared to other technologies of the same type at the moment, such as React Native, Kotlin, and Java, Flutter stood out for its simplicity in having a single programming (called Dart) which is understood by several distribution media, including Android, iOS and the web. Flutter has become the fastest growing app development software over the past two years and its progressive community provides support quickly. Great interest is shown in developing new features at a sustained pace.
Flutter also allows flexibility in design and client interfaces for each application with great speed of execution. Also, when programming or debugging, everything is checked in real time, which facilitates operations with a live update, rather than putting a new version of a system online.
In short, we looked for negative points for Flutter and did the research by consulting several articles from other agencies before concluding that there were none!
Of course, this text has been simplified for a better understanding of the software and its functionality.
