About the About Web Pages

Have you already created your own about web page? It takes a lot of thoughts, doesn’t it?

Writing the mission of the web project or start-up business, choosing values and researching the keywords to which we adhere to include them in the definitions of products and services.

This information to be disclosed requires introspection. It’s necessary to think long term; if only for the decision on the address of the company’s head office. Who doesn’t know patience after completing the paperwork for a change of business location in Quebec?

5 corporate values

Choosing values for a business is also an insightful and thoughtful exercise. While faithfully representing the workers, employees and business management of the company, these values must be carefully formulated, explained and fully understood by all stakeholders; the writing must be done without ambiguity or implication.

For W+M, there is a chalk board in front of the desk. Five values were written, deleted, changed ana reasserted for almost six months, the time of programming this last web page to launch the site.

With W+M, it’s all about traffic! Web + Marketing

Mission: to democratize digital promotional tools for companies, SMEs, startups and self-employed workers of Quebec.

5 W+M values of the company and the entrepreneur:

  • Equality

  • Respect

  • Continuous learning

  • Listening and empathy

  • Professional ethics

I’ve been thinking about having my own little website company for a long time. This idea comes from the novel I read in my early twenties by Thomas More, Utopia, where you only devote a few hours to work in the day, 7 days a week. Being a person of habit, this principle suits me.

To personalize the company about page, I wanted to explain the colours and the logo using a blog article. You can take a look at it in the following article:

What Should a Relevant About Web Page Include?

A company’s coveted information pages must demonstrate the reason for the company or products and services. While presenting the team, the values, the mission and a story (historical) text, the style and graphics of the page must be concise, well referenced and organized.

Many will go for an elaborate design or stylish script, but a simple literary-style page can also do the job. The important thing is to put yourself in the shoes of the visitor when writing. A user who is discovering the site for the first time.

An about page is limited to one or two readings per unique visitor, this isn’t the section of a site where a large rotation of content and daily promotions will take place. Rather, it’s a static content to revise annually, such as a contact page or web policies.

The Presentation of Its Brand

Keep it simple, with paragraphs of 4 to 5 lines maximum, lists of 5 to 6 statements and redirecting links to more detailed content if necessary. Let’s present our brand by creating trust and finish the page with a direct link to the product or service offered.

Great fact! In my experience, the visit statistics for the about page, the story or the team on a website is always around 50-60% of annual visitors or buyers. It’s worth paying special attention to this.

Have a great month!

Jeff

About making Visitors and Customers Confident

A report on the information and company information to be disclosed on websites while respecting the laws and consumer rights in Quebec.

We’re in this era of cybersecurity and personal data privacy checks. The importance of the safety of data is increasingly understood and appreciated by the entire population.

Although virtual commerce is regulated in Quebec for the well-being and protection of all consumers, a major problem arises regarding the spontaneity of electronic commerce and the legitimacy of the business operating the websites.

Purchases made on fraudulent sites with confirmation emails that aren’t accurate, combined with a growing number of spam, scams and self-account management, are creating more and more problems and concerns in modern homes.

What should a merchant post on a website to demonstrate legitimacy and build trust among potential customers? What should consumers check before pressing the express purchase button to ensure the security of their transaction? How can we, the visitor, reader or buyer, ensure that our consumer rights and the quality of the products or services offered are respected?

This report is essential because it addresses essential questions for safe and informed online shopping.

Take advantage of these explanations and tips for editing web information pages. Let’s become responsible consumers by verifying the information of business sites. In this report, the homepage, about, contact and web Policy pages are reviewed by the webmaster as well.

The Marketing Column #itSAMarketingThing

The chronicle of different and low-cost marketing for startups, businesses and entrepreneurs. It’s a marketing story is told every month in the Monthly Ticket of the Marketing Blog.

Chronique #itSAMarketingThing 14 : Programming business communication on websites.

Column #itSAMarketingThing 14: Programming business communication on websites.

Effective Writing for Your Digital Tools

A business website that effectively presents products and services, with an integrated store or submission forms for easy interaction, must have a professional and polished look. Also, it’s essential to include well-written content and accurate information about the company, its team and the regulations to display as a trader, to guarantee a positive and informative user experience.

There are usually two types of content in digital marketing websites. The first is the merchant’s static content, which remains relevant and visible over time. The second is ephemeral content, which is dynamic and engaging, and includes elements such as entertainment, promotions and discount campaigns that have a limited lifetime and trigger a sense of urgency among consumers.

Static Content to Reference and Index in Search Engines

Static website displays, also known as key information pages, are the basic elements of business, online or physical. These pages must appear in search engine results, and include specifically contact and about pages and those devoted to the detailed presentation of the products and services offered. This content, well written and optimized, plays a crucial role in demonstrating the company’s experience, professionalism and skills in its field of activity.

To increase the chances of these to appear in search engines, we will often opt for a neutral design highlighting the referenced content in a clear display. However, this doesn’t mean the design must be boring like a book page devoid of character and originality. On the contrary, it’s possible to create an interface that is both aesthetic and functional, which captures attention while facilitating reading and interaction.

Limited duration content to be highlighted by paid referencing (SEA)

Product campaign web pages showcasing promotions with big images, engaging video and even discount splash pages with a short-lived lifespan will be more difficult to reference and index by modern search engines, due to their limited time.

There are various reasons, such as the slow opening of a page which is caused by a big document including the technical details of a machine that must be integrated into the page. Another common example is the right to share a video without the play/stop options or with restrictions copyright, all of which has a negative impact on indexing the web page in Google Search.

It’s then necessary to use different tips of referencing, because each approach brings its advantages. Often, this quality content will be promoted strategically via paid ads on various social media, and on Google and other available search engines. This helps reach a wider audience and increase online visibility.

Once the Visitor Arrives on the Site

Visitors shouldn’t click through 3 pages of our corporate website to understand what our company offers. The readership must understand immediately from the first page of its visit. Let’s remember the average search time for an Internet user who visits a site for the first time is less than 3 seconds. If the latter doesn’t understand our site within this period of time, he will go back to the Google search and choose the next site in his search.

In short, our website constitutes the most important and essential digital instrument for the smooth running of our company. It’s crucial that the content we publish includes relevant keywords from your domain and those relating to the topic of the page. Therefore, note that the content of your company about page won’t necessarily include the same keywords as those used on your page dedicated to presenting a service. We also use attributes and description parameters in our management system to considerably increase the chances of appearing in search tools.

Writing our own communications

Budget: It’s essential to remember that no $0 communications campaign will work without an investment of time and preparation. Free distribution means primarily include social media and shares, and relevant news articles and corporate promotions via communications and marketing tools, such as emails.

These communication tools may require rental usage or hosting to be effective. One way to save time is to create templates and reuse texts. The content, tools and deadlines used are often similar from one campaign to another, which reduces production time for each new campaign.

Tips: We shouldn’t underestimate the great power of sharing in our product launches, as it can have a significant and lasting impact on our visibility. I always suggest this before even thinking about allocating a budget for promotion, as the effects of a good sharing strategy can be remarkably beneficial. Of course, take care to choose your posting time carefully to maximize engagement, because every minute counts in the digital world. Also, don’t take time off right away after the event, because you’ll need to quickly transition into networking mode once your campaign is published. This can truly make the decisive difference in the success of your marketing efforts, influencing how your product will be perceived by the public.

Tools: We also use official free content distribution sites to maximize our reach. An example of the event side is represented by event display sites, such as “what to do in Quebec.” Besides this, tourist sites and local activity groups or business groups, often offer their help sharing or become partner. These platforms even offer interesting opportunities for visibility exchange partnerships to increase the impact of our initiatives.
