The Professional Presentation on digital
Column #itSAMarketingThing 1: Promote a professional presentation on the virtual market and social.
The chronicle of different and low-cost marketing for startups, businesses and entrepreneurs. It’s a marketing story is told every month in the Monthly Ticket of the Marketing Blog.
The First Professional Presentation to the Public
Here is the latest video to promote the W+M Webmaster Services. In this ticket, I present to you the other side of the scene, the preparation of the promotional campaign for this professional presentation.
This promotion of W+M Services was in November 2023, following the presentation of an exceptional event that I had the pleasure of working on: Le Salon Industriel de Terrebonne 2023. This announcement was intended to make my services known as a freelance webmaster following the success of the event.
For this first column on budget marketing, I wanted to explain how I went about promoting the presentation of the website last fall, because marketing does not necessarily involve fees to present yourself virtually.
The important thing is to have an anchor point to send readers, visitors, customers, prospects and possible employees or employers to. Although as a marketing professional with the word statistics in mind, I would tend to convince you to have an electronic redirection location, such as the reader’s landing place on a web page or a dedicated html page is ideal, a PDF document, your email address, the About page or your LinkedIn account is quite possible.
Also, once the text is composed, this type of presentation is not the kind of post scheduled in advance as a simple wish of Happy Canada Day on our social networks. Our presentation and its publications need to be prepared and harmonized to create our identity. These are posts that we will encourage people to comment, share and use for the next few weeks.
Once again, the important thing to be effective is to use an anchor point where it is possible to get statistics out and trace your arrivals, your first business contacts.
Preparation of the presentation text
When I make a business presentation text, the first thing I do is study the target customer market, the competitors and their location(s), the key people in the media in the field (influencers are part of this category now) and the company’s display status locations. It’s my doodling moment. The result will be a sheet with a list of competitors and resources as well as the keywords.
I then list all the company’s displays with the dimensions of the media promo images in parentheses to produce a visual everywhere and have an overall image for the campaign. This list will look like this:
Website, French, English and bilingual version (1200 × 630 and 500 × 500)
Physical address, bilingual version (three posters and three 8 1/2 x11 cards)
Pick-up counter (business card, one French and one English version)
Product packaging - logo to be sent for printing promotional material (bags and boxes)
Envelope and sale document - logo to be provided for printing promotional material (logo with addressing)
Facebook, bilingual version (1200 × 360 publication and 2400 × 2400 profile)
Instagram, bilingual version (1080 × 1080 post and 1080 × 1920 story)
You therefore have all the places where you need to prepare, if necessary, a presentation communication, as well as the visual to be made with the sizes.
Here, for this campaign, visuals without text were used for administrative documents. It was therefore necessary to harmonize the website and social media presentation publications and add this communication to sale documents and other company descriptions, to have a uniform description on all display media. Think of artist album launch campaigns, for example, a uniform image is usually used for the album, promos and tour shows. It’s the same thing for a professional image.
Once the type of promo to be produced has been chosen (visual, clip, press release, etc.) and the publication dates have been put on the agenda for each media, according to the publication highlight of each platform, it is time for visual production. Wanting a text publication with a text and a second nicer promo with a video of about ten seconds, I used three jpeg images and the free creation applications (Canva, CapCut and the free Photoshop application) to edit this short video in five minutes. At the time of publication, I had 400 unique visits to my website on the first day of the first text communications with images on social media without spending $1. I then made text and story posts the following days by changing the profile image and banner on all media. After two weeks, I shared the video this time for the rest of the month. I also shared these posts on my personal social media. This pitch campaign was then reproduced and adapted into a blog post on the website the following month, The X-Session. The whole thing has generated more than 1200 plays by the end of December 2023, without spending anything on marketing or advertising yet, but only the web hosting, which is my anchor.

The power of sharing your publications
The power of sharing in our product launches should not be underestimated and I always suggest this before even thinking about putting a budget for promotion.
Of course, take care to choose your publication time carefully and don’t take time off right after the event, because you will have to quickly switch to networking mode once your campaign is published.
Also, do some research to find out the ways in which your information is disclosed, new apps appear every day and they are often free at first. However, it is important to keep up to date with technology news and trends. You can keep up to date by subscribing.
Conclusion
The next Monthly Ticket will talk about the continuation of this free local campaign before starting to invest because the announcement of your campaign on your social networks represents only one marketing opportunity at little cost.
Speaking of corporate communication, do you also have a press release? I’m composing mine right now, so I’m ready for any eventuality!
Thank you for reading
