I’ve been patiently waiting for several weeks before starting this Monthly Ticket writing, dedicated to corporate social media. Although I’m a webmaster, my profession has always been coloured by the implementation of social networks on digital tools, which I would then have to manage, often being the only one who understood the functioning of the CMS and social media app, while having the skills in communications and media.
This is how, from one implementation to the next, I learned the use of several social networks, and their proper operation during launch businesses by working for, and with, startups, producers of events, shows, tours and even sports teams and international events and marketing departments. #AdmissionNetwork90, Mtl.
I’m very proud of these two reports presented in this Monthly Tix about the introduction of Social for startups and upcoming SMEs and enterprises. I hope your reading will bring success and prosperity to your entrepreneurial project using social. Feel free to comment on your experiences.

Corporate social in 2024, how to get the facts straight?
When I cleaned up old laptops at the end of the year, I re-read the article Your Socials are watching, on corporate image in social media. Written before the pandemic, I wondered if the presentation of new companies on social media had changed and what evolved over the past few months.
Doing searches, I couldn’t find a satisfactory answer. I couldn’t test the whole thing on my existing social with followers. What do I do?
Since November 2023, I have created new social for my freelance webmaster service, which I have named Services W+M (web + marketing): Facebook, Instagram, and X!
I have since studied the whole thing to present a follow-up report about opening new social media for startups, i.e., a company launching in its first two years of operation in Quebec, Canada.
Content Marketing Through Social Media
With the trend of social marketing and sale strategy in socials, associated with the customer accessibility of consumer comments and opinions in the virtual marketplace, it was normal to discuss about the use of social in our brand representation methods at the beginning of 2024. It’s a major change in many marketing plans. Socials also are, in general, directly related with the sales number for startups and entrepreneurs with restricted budgets.
When starting, you don’t need to have multiple social media in your entrepreneurial journey, unless your field, like my freelancing service I do, requires you to demonstrate expertise in using multiple social platforms. My advice is always to focus on the operations and management of one social at a time.
Also, in the Social are watching reports, I use Facebook as an example, but your business may need an account on a distinct platform with exclusive content, such as videos of your equipment, manufacturing processes, or machine tool in action, where a YouTube channel would be much more useful for your upcoming business than posts on a Facebook page.
Use the main points of these two reports to apply the actions on your new social media, the one that will suit your project and how your content will allow you to differentiate yourself from your competitors. No matter which social media app you choose, there will always be a user-friendly guide to get you started, and Google to find articles that will advise you on the winning trends to follow. Cause we all know, GIYBF.
The Company Presentation Period: one Year
So, as you can see, the new social accounts of the W+M Services have been completed with basic information about a company and introductory messages and publications have been circulating for a few weeks with hashtags appropriate to the content of the message.
Hashtags… Let me explain. I didn’t use hashtags like #LikeMe or #Like4Like to get a higher number of followers or posts popularity. Instead, I used popular hashtags representing the keywords of the company’s products and services, which looks more professional according to popular opinion. Of course, again, there are companies that will have reasons to use this boosting hashtags, but debating the reputation of social popularity-boosting acts isn’t the purpose of this article.
Since November 2023, no money has been invested to promote social accounts. The period of company presentation and the opening of social accounts doesn’t yet allow you to invest in paid ads for the moment to make known, or to advertise, subscriptions. What would be the subscription percentage of your campaigns, and especially how much will it cost you by clicks and become prospects with new social accounts of three publications, a clip and a website to promote your new business? It may be too soon for marketing when you’re clearly at the stage of communicating and presenting your project with restricted budgets.

Starting The First Social For Businesses
The report on virtual corporate identity and the opening of the first professional pages on social media? Less expensive than a website, it is a safe bet that this network will become your first official entry point into the business world.

The Opening of The Commerce
Column #itSAMarketingThing 2: The opening and the presentation to the neighbourhood.
Just because we use the virtual market doesn’t mean you should forget good manners and not introduce yourself to physical neighbours and the neighbourhood!
Yes, a good way to start the process of presenting a business to the public is to introduce yourself to your market, take the time to research potentially profitable contacts, and introduce yourself or use an introductory email and a redirect link, such as a new restaurant that distributes discount leaflets in the mail.
I like to receive a member request from a new business neighbour. I find it very nice, but without the pressure of having to answer a long response. A simple subscription to the Facebook account in return and a reply email introducing my corporate mission is perfect for a start to neighbourhood networking. Remember that a presentation communication for your startup isn’t a pressure sales request, don’t alienate your whole neighbourhood already! This is only a presentation process and an overview of the beginning of prospecting in the case of positive feedback.
I always suggest this presentation in the public presentation process. This is more economical than paying for a marketing campaign when your audience is only at the real beginning of its development. Think about communication and information disclosure before you invest in a marketing project if your business has a limited budget. Meet one or two digital advertising professionals in your field to guide your first paid publications, you will save more money this way, than a large and paying marketing campaign, like in the 90’s, unless you’re already a millionaire. Also, several services offer free prospecting.
Budget: $0, but time investment. Presentation documents: prepare the visual and write the basic presentation text to create a global brand image of the company in a document. The text of your document will serve at the time to start your social and your website, so it’s a good investment of time. In general, company information should be the same across all your devices and digital tools for the public.
Tools: all the elements to create a presentation document, a presentation email, and a signature, such as Canva to create your images, the Office tools to create a .pdf, and a map! Finally, for companies that send email communications with documents, since midnight on February 1, 2024, Google updated their personalized ad policy and now request incoming email communications from web domains, no Hotmail or email addresses. This means your attachment may not be delivered. You may have to send links instead of putting a document in attachment until you have your domain. An IT service will help you, but the communication from Google is clear for web workers. Plan this so that your communications don’t end up in spam. 2024 is a challenging year for marketers, isn’t it?
Yes, the point of the exercise of presentation is to go around the neighbourhood, or virtually, and write to businesses in your professional neighbourhood to introduce yourself and show your brand. Use Google Maps to locate websites and contacts and send an initial communication. This will allow you to start your prospect database.
Shopping around social and business networking groups that match what you offer under your company’s account, participating in conversations in exchanges, and creating your group will also help your presence in your neighbourhood and in the virtual marketplace.

So, what happened in the ServicesW+M office lately? Well, studying the 2023 visit statistics from this website revealed an important detail: three out of five readers of this blog are girls! Yes guys, for the first time since 2018 on this digital marketing blog, the girls stepped up! Here is the webmaster column of the month: The Websites Statistics.
The first website statistics
While it’s important to check website statistics on a daily basis, I think we all need to plan a monthly, and an annual period in our schedule to study the statistics of visitors.
In addition, when we are in the process of launching a business, it is difficult to collect tangible data on external visits that do not result in a sale. This knowledge of knowing the behaviour of our visitors on our website also guides our corporate communications and marketing actions. Web statistics, as well as social ones, will be good assets for all projects, especially at launch.
General Visitor Statistics
Let’s look at what a normal Content Management Software (CMS), or a site with manageable hosting via an editing system like WordPress, for example, can tell us. Note that these statistics parameters come from an editing system with a normal business hosting package, without extras, i.e., the most basic, in order to consult basic information and statistics. More advantageous and more expensive packages will give us much more information.

The first insights from your social campaigns
As you can see, the statistics demonstrate basic information about the visits, places of origin, gender and age categories, and other general information to know.
What for? Social managers are very well aware of the next point. Because this basic information from our visitors will be the data from our first targeted ads on social media, in order to determine your audiences. There you go!
Communication that goes a long way
Moreover, in our teams, we make sure that we always have good communication between the webmaster, the social manager and the marketing and communications departments, which will often be tasks performed by the same person during the launch of a business.
Thus, our preparations of materials and visuals will be easy to coordinate, in addition to having a homogeneous style. Yes, many of the tasks of these departments can arise from the same communication. In this way, we avoid duplication of tasks for each department. Effective general communication will include all the required details and information from each department. I call it my action plan and I see it as the basis for communicating a campaign, so everyone internally refers to it. Over time, each individual develops his or her working method based on this communication and the speed of execution increases. After a few months, you’ll be surprised at the results a small, well-organized team can achieve! Shared documents and a task management system will be good tools to use as we grow our teams.
