Hello Music lover,
This new series of articles on the presentation and production of musical scores and songs brings together the works of Jeff Maheux as a songwriter and W+M publishing.
The reports highlight the history of the texts and the composition of the melodies, the studio experience and the progress of the recording of the tracks, the progress of the mixing and the production of the vocal tracks and the possibilities of stage interpretation and promotion.
Besides, there’s something new on Spotify! A new JM Musique artist has now appeared as well as the At The Corner track.
Have fun listening and reading.

The Notes from the Writing Book
When the song that would become Credits was written in 1999, the music and arrangements produced in the studio resulted in a very distinctive rock track. This is the version named the 80’s Tribute. It was published online in the February edition of W+M Magazine.
Having a multitude of acoustic pieces as well as medium and slow tempos at that time, Credits had to bring a little punch and energy to the repertoire, thus standing out from the other titles. This is a great second number in a rock show setlist.
In the process of producing a demo of ten songs, Credits was produced from the first sessions. The demo recording continued one session per week for several months. The version had plenty of time to age until it was no longer up to date at the end for the demo. It ultimately could no longer be used as the project progressed and new grooves came up.
A second departure, Credits 25
In fact, we should say a second alternative for Credits. Because although left out of the demo, the production of the track was not finished. The song returned to the studio spontaneously for, at first, a change in the percussions and the beat style. Then it become a completely different framework to work on, with alternative guitar influences and electronic effects. The melody accent is in the base now.
Notice these are still the same chords. Only the arrangement redone. Just a little… From A to Z. ;)
Conclusion
Spring will be busy in the JM Musique studio/office.
Between the programming of the upcoming house's iTunes page and the design of the track’s frame to be published in mid-April, a communication campaign is being written between the musical tracks. Sometimes in a House Prod, the music notes change to keyboard letters, don't they?
