Another Day - The Mysterious Rock Song is Reveal
Music Reports from JM Musique - Demo Talk Music Art No. 6 - #demoTalkMusicArt and the unveiling of the last track from the next EP.
#demoTalkMusicArt (DTMA) is the name of a musical project that aims to launch a first EP available on the virtual market. The whole thing is operated by Jeff Maheux, the music composer.
Here Is Report 6 of the DTMA Project
Originally titled Florinda, this music was composed for an agent looking for different genres to present to a male artist and writer. The first version from 2003, Smooth, is arranged as a pop-rock style progression. The piece is simple and classic. This music can easily be mixed to a melody with lyrics to become a song or be used as a 15 or 30 second jingle or to support a 3-minute scene.
Following feedback on the structure of the track, Florinda returned in the studio in the subsequent months. A new rock version featuring a change of rhythm in the chorus parts and punchy brass arrangements were added in the spring of 2004.
The mystery begins to reveal itself!
The first musical versions got forgotten for a long time before resurfacing to be mixed into a song. But everything is ready!

The Writer’s Notebook
It was finally an evening in December 2024, or the beginning of the 16th at 1 a.m., that everything was put in place. The Florinda musical score was added to a new text and melody to become a song. The new song: Another Day.
The Text and Concept Found: Duality
The text Another Day and its melody were also put aside for a long time, not having a studio to record them when the idea came to me. The melody is from 2005 and was composed with a guitar. It includes innocuous lyrics to accompany it.
The text of the chorus Another Day was written the following year, spontaneously, on the back of a photo from a trip to New York. The picture has been in a frame hanging on the wall for several years. All was found during a move almost two centuries later!
Everything evolved during 2024 until the lyric was finished December 16. Some tracks were edited and recorded with the words to become the practice version. The song Another Day is a rock song, effective and dynamic, whose text is ambiguous between love and anger.
Another Day
(Paroles et musique de Jeff Maheux)
You want me to tell you what I’m hiding
You know, I can guess it from your mood.
You want me to tell you what I’m thinking
You know, you will find out one day soon.
You know, I’m gonna tell you what I’m hiding.
I think you know I have feelings for you.
You know, I’m gonna tell you what I’m thinking.
I think you know I’m still in love with you!
Oh! I guess we’ll kiss another day too!
You know, I’m gonna tell you what I’m hiding.
I think you know I have feelings for you
You know, I’m gonna tell you what I’m thinking.
I think you know I’m still in love with you!
Oh! I guess we’ll kiss another day too!
You want me to tell you what I’m hiding. You know, I can guess it from your mood!
You want me to tell you what I’m thinking. You know, you will find out one day soon!
You want me to tell you what I’m hiding. You know, I can guess it from your mood!
You want me to tell you what I’m thinking. You know that I’m still in love with you!
Good night… Idiot!

The artistic direction for DTMA
Yes, duality is exploited in several facets in this song about revealing a romantic feeling for a person.
The text also reflects the duality in perceptions, so much so that the whole thing can easily be sung as a duet, which brings several possibilities of fantastic and fun interpretations on stage.
The song is now ready to be taken into the studio. A clue? The piece will not have a musical intro. It’s starts like a a motor, the one of a motorcycle ready to hit the road.
Here is an idea of the practice setup.
Conclusion
You now know the 4 songs from the Demo Talk Music Art project, on the way to the creation of the first EP of compositions by Jeff Maheux.
The publication of the reports continues, in the meantime, via W+M as the project progresses.
Thank you for reading. See you Another Day!
